Can Different Styles, Colours and Sizes Be Combined in One Wholesale Order? ZULIZ’s Flexible MOQ and Assortment Planning Explained
Flexible MOQ and assortment planning for overseas wholesale partners
Wholesale flexibility creates real value when partners can build an assortment around local demand. Under its current policy, ZULIZ supports combining different styles, colours and sizes within one wholesale order rather than requiring a standard full colour-and-size run or fixed product mix. Subject to SKU availability and the written order plan, partners can test a broader assortment while retaining control over local retail pricing and secondary distribution. MOQ, first-order support, pricing and delivery terms are confirmed for each order.
When overseas buyers plan an initial wholesale order, they are rarely concerned only with whether different products can appear on the same purchase order. Their practical considerations are usually broader:
“Can the order be planned around the needs of the local market?”
“How will the MOQ be determined for the proposed styles, colours and size mix?”
“Which products and quantities qualify for first-order support?”
“What costs remain separate from the merchandise quotation?”
ZULIZ’s answer is yes. Under its current policy, partners can combine different styles, colours and sizes within a single wholesale order rather than follow a standard full colour-and-size run or fixed product mix.
Partners can build the assortment around local climate, channel and customer needs. The final MOQ, available SKUs, quantities, pricing and delivery terms must be confirmed in the written quotation, order plan and agreement.
What Does the Current ZULIZ Partner Policy Confirm?
1. Flexible MOQ arrangements
ZULIZ offers flexible MOQ arrangements, agreed with overseas partners on an order-by-order basis.
• A manageable starting quantity: Partners can begin with a manageable order rather than commit to dozens of cartons or carry excessive stock from the outset.
• Flexible colour-and-size planning: Partners can select the styles, colours and sizes required for their market rather than follow a standard full colour-and-size run or fixed assortment.
The actual minimum order depends on:
• Selected styles
• Colours and size mix
• Customisation requirements
• Product testing requirements
• Packaging requirements
• The final written order plan
As a result, there is no single published MOQ that applies to every wholesale enquiry. The final MOQ for each proposed order must be agreed and confirmed in writing.
2. Assortments can be tailored to local market needs
The ZULIZ portfolio includes Walking Shoes, Travelling Shoes, Dad Shoes, Mom Shoes, Function Shoes, Casual Beach Sandals, Summer Sandals, Soft Summer Sandals and Comfort Insoles.
Product assortments can be tailored to local climate and channel requirements:
• Tropical and warm-weather markets: Partners can place greater emphasis on sandals, breathable products and lightweight footwear for everyday wear
• Temperate markets: Partners can prioritise walking shoes, travelling shoes, dad shoes, mom shoes and year-round styles
• Different channel types: Selections can be tailored to the target customers, retail format and local market requirements
Within a single wholesale order, partners can combine different styles, colours and sizes. Under ZULIZ’s current policy, a fixed assortment or unwanted colours and sizes are not standard requirements. Final SKU availability, quantities and the applicable MOQ remain subject to the written order plan.
3. Current support for qualifying first commercial orders
Under the ZULIZ partner policy in effect as of August 2026, the following measures may be available to qualifying partners:
• No brand usage fee: Local operations, logistics, duties, marketing and other expenses remain separate
• Waiver of the US$50,000 brand security deposit: This does not automatically grant a franchise appointment, distribution rights or territorial exclusivity
• One-for-one stock support for qualifying first orders: Under an agreed written plan, ZULIZ may provide one support pair at no additional merchandise charge for each eligible pair purchased in a qualifying first commercial order
Eligible models, sizes, quantities, delivery arrangements and exclusions must be confirmed before payment. Support pairs may be different SKUs.
For selected styles, the effective average merchandise cost may fall below US$10 per pair after applicable first-order support. This is not a universal wholesale price or landed cost and excludes freight, duties, taxes, customs clearance and local delivery.
4. Local pricing, secondary distribution and gross margin planning
Partners may determine their local retail prices and develop secondary distribution and wholesale channels in line with their local business strategy.
Under suitable local pricing and normal sell-through, a retail gross margin of around 60%–70% may be used as a planning target.
This range is for planning purposes only. Gross margin is not net profit and is not a profit guarantee. Actual results depend on merchandise cost, freight, duties, taxes, local operating expenses, channel costs, promotions and retail pricing.
|
Policy note: These are time-sensitive commercial policies. All eligibility, pricing, support stock, territory rights, after-sales responsibilities, cost arrangements and delivery terms are subject to the final written quotation, order plan and agreement. |
How Can ZULIZ Support Product and Assortment Planning?
1. Product selection guidance based on the local market
ZULIZ can provide product selection guidance based on the market, climate, consumer group and channel type.
For example, tropical and warm-weather markets can place greater emphasis on sandals, breathable products and lightweight everyday footwear. Temperate markets can prioritise walking shoes, travelling shoes, dad shoes, mom shoes and year-round styles.
Local trials, size planning and wearer feedback remain important when determining the final product mix for an international market.
2. Retail preparation and marketing support
Depending on the partnership model, ZULIZ can provide:
• Site selection, store planning and display guidance: Support for evaluating locations, presenting senior footwear and developing effective try-on experiences
• Product and staff training: Training materials covering product features, the footwear needs of older consumers, try-on demonstrations and sales guidance
• Marketing asset support: Product images, videos, campaign templates, seasonal promotion ideas and social media materials
• Retail operations support: Guidance on customer service, in-store demonstrations, product feedback collection and sales tracking
The scope, format, availability and timing of support should be confirmed in the written partnership plan.
3. Order, replenishment and supply chain coordination
ZULIZ can support order planning, replenishment planning and communication, product assortment adjustments and export coordination.
Where applicable, retail operations tools may also include sales tracking, customer communication, inventory management and data-informed inventory guidance.
ZULIZ provides English-language business communication, complemented by website content in English, Spanish, Malay, Filipino, Thai and Arabic.
What Should Partners Confirm Before Placing an Order?
1. MOQ and assortment structure
Before placing an order, partners should confirm:
1. Whether the MOQ applies to the order as a whole or to individual styles, colours, sizes or SKUs
2. Which proposed products are available for the relevant market and order period
3. Whether individual SKUs or variants carry minimum quantities
4. How customisation, product testing and packaging affect the MOQ
5. The final assortment and quantities recorded in the written order plan
Although the product mix is flexible, the final MOQ, available SKUs and quantities must still be confirmed for each order.
2. First-order support, pricing and cost responsibilities
For a qualifying first commercial order, partners should confirm before payment:
• Eligible models and SKUs
• Purchased quantities and the number of support pairs
• Applicable sizes
• Delivery arrangements
• Exclusions and other eligibility conditions
• SKU-level merchandise pricing
• Freight, duties, taxes, customs clearance, local delivery and other separate costs
Neither the absence of a brand usage fee nor the waiver of the security deposit should be interpreted to mean that all operating or market-entry costs are covered by ZULIZ.
3. Stock, delivery and replenishment arrangements
Partners should confirm stock availability, indicative lead times, delivery responsibilities and replenishment arrangements in writing.
Where a relevant regional warehouse and operating conditions permit, the transfer of slow-moving stock may be discussed. Eligibility, availability, timing and cost must be confirmed for each case.
